KU Affiliated Colleges

Kathmandu University (KU) is a public university located in Dhulikhel, about 30 km (19 miles) east of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. It was established in 1991 with the goal of providing quality education to students. The university’s motto is “Quality Education for Leadership.”

KU is the third oldest university in Nepal. It operates through seven different schools, which are:

• School of Arts
• School of Education
• School of Engineering
• School of Law
• School of Management
• School of Medical Sciences
• School of Science

The university offers various programs at the undergraduate (bachelor’s), graduate (master’s), and postgraduate (PhD) levels in different fields like engineering, science, management, arts, education, law, and medical sciences. We will get on to it later listing the whole faculties and programs provided by KU.

Some key points about Kathmandu University:

• It was started in 1985 as Kathmandu Valley Campus, which offered science courses. This campus later became part of KU when it was established in 1991.
• KU is the first privately managed public university in Nepal.
  The university has campuses in Dhulikhel, Patan, Lalitpur, and Panchkhal.
• The School of Engineering and School of Medical Sciences have the highest number of students.
• KU organizes various student clubs and activities related to different interests like robotics, environment, music, and more.
• The university celebrated its 25th anniversary (Silver Jubilee) in 2019 with special events and programs.
