Tribhuvan University (TU) Affiliated Colleges

Tribhuvan University (TU) is the oldest and largest university in Nepal, established on June 25, 1959. Named after the late King Tribhuvan, it was initially located in Tripureshwor, Kathmandu, before being relocated to its main campus in Kirtipur in 1967. The university has a sprawling area of 154.77 hectares and houses the Central Administrative Office and the Central Campus.

It offers a wide range of programs, including 1,000 undergraduate and 500 postgraduate courses across various disciplines. In terms of rankings, Tribhuvan University is placed among the top 1201-1500 universities globally and ranks 251 among Asian universities, according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024.

The four faculties at TU are further divided into 40 central departments, offering specialized programs in various disciplines. These faculties cover subjects such as humanities and social sciences, management, education, law, and more. Additionally, the university has five technical institutes dedicated to engineering, forestry, medicine, science and technology, and agriculture and animal science.
